We have been honored during past events to have people like Colleen Glackin as a featured speaker. Last year, Colleen, wife of Ted and mother of Teddy, 6, and Peter, 4, told us how, with the help of Methodist Home for Children’s in-home services, she and Ted were able to recover from addictions that cost them everything that mattered in life, including custody of their boys.
Theirs is a story of lives transformed.
Indeed, transformation is a theme that runs throughout our work at Methodist Home for Children. With support from friends like you, children and families are able to overcome abuse, neglect, delinquency or addiction and create a new vision of themselves. They are able to live into a future with hope—sometimes for the first time in their lives—and we give them the tools and support they need to fulfill that future. Some leave behind all that's familiar to get there. Some adopt new names signifying their new identity. All are wonderful examples of Christ’s ability to work through our foster parents, staff and communities in the task of fashioning each child’s preferred future.
We cannot do it without you. Last year, Epicurean Evening supporters raised more than $66,000 for children and families, and we hope to top that record this year. So please join us for an evening of fine dining for a higher cause. With every table we fill on August 30, one child receives funding to complete his or her annual care with Methodist Home for Children. RSVP today and invite your friends to fill a table for a young person in need..
